Our property is a charming, new boutique property which opened in September 2008. Built against the rampart walls of Bundi Garh Palace, which rise majestically above the town, this 300 year old haveli is reachable on foot via a twisting alleyway leading up from the maze of streets, and is entered through the original magnificent 40ft -stone archway. Bundi is an unexplored and relatively undiscovered splendour, located in the heart of Rajasthan. The palaces and forts have a fairy tale quality about them and help to form the most picturesque location, which continues to remain isolated and independent. Wander through the old walled town to discover crumbling stucco havelis, traditional bazaars and the old vegetable market still visited by villagers who come to the town each day to sell their produce. The locals are friendly and welcoming, and the town has an atmosphere and hospitality that the tourists who come find beguiling, making Bundi an appealing destination.
The seven tastefully restored rooms have kept their original character, whilst offering modern amenities, such as en suite bathrooms and A/C. The roof terrace has exceptional and romantic views of the town, the palace immediately behind, the pretty town, with its cooling blue-painted houses, and the Jait Sagar lake below. Surrounded by the Aravali Hills, with a ridge of crumbling battlements this location transports one back into the time of A Thousand and One Nights fantasy.
Basic amenities: Seven beautiful rooms set in a historical landscape rich in heritage, offer swish ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and wonderful terraces offering magnificent views of the floodlit palace that dominates the small town. A wonderful time to visit is during the Fairs and Festivals of Bundi, which reflect the hospitality and life style of its people. The main ones are listed below: Tejaji Fair (Durga) (Sept – Oct) This fair is dedicated to the folk deity Tejaji. A large number of people gather here to collect bamboo for the Tejaji temple in their village. The fair continues for five days.

Places to visit : Taragarh Fort-- This impressive fort, built in 1345, is a wonderful place to ramble around at leisure. From the top, the views over the town and surrounding countryside are magical, especially at sunset. Chattar Mahal Palace-- The palace of Bundi, even in broad daylight, is such a palace as men build for themselves in uneasy dreams – the work of goblins rather than of men’ Rudyard Kipling.Joined by a fortified wall to the fort above, is the main palace, which was begun in the 16th century and added to over the next 200 years. It clings to the hillside and is reached by a steep, paved path, leading up to a set of enormous gates, watched over by a pair of formidable, painted elephants – the Hathi Pol.
