This is an offering of a private room in a sprawling 110-year old heritage bungalow, which was the erstwhile home of the director of Tata Coffee. Surrounded by the sweeping vistas of the Kodagu landscape, this property exudes colonial charm! A covered patio sit-out with lamps, comfortable couches and old-fashioned loungers, decorated with potted greens is a great space to enjoy the view or get together with your travel companions for a těte-à-těte. The stately bungalow in with a white and red façade sits proud and faces the sprawling gardens, which are ideal for long leisurely walks. The house also has a formal dining room with an antique crockery cabinet and a large six-seater dining table. A balcony sit-out overlooking the garden with cane-bottomed recliners, potted greens, and wrought-iron balustrades is the perfect space for some quiet reading. The bedroom is rather spacious and boasts teak wood flooring, in true colonial style, a four-poster bed, a writing table, and a tea trolley that sits by the window; wall-mounted lamps make bedside reading more convenient. A simple but traditional cheval-mirror dresser and a comfortable armchair sit in another part of the room. The room becomes even more attractive with a personal fireplace for those cold winter nights and a wooden cabinet for convenience.
The bungalow comes with a common living area as well as a dining room, where you can enjoy a meal in typical Coorg plantation style. The century-old bungalow has airy rooms, wooden flooring, cozy fireplaces, Victorian furniture and an overwhelming sense of serenity. The recent restoration has added the luxury elements to its old colonial charm.
