In-all, a great trip to coorg which was well supplemented by our stay in this cottage. exciting points about the stay: 1. property in the middle of a coffee plantation with all the serenity one could expect complete with a pond(not meant for swimming) and a stream. 2. the house is clean and practical. It has a gas heater in both the bathrooms and a solar back-up in addition to inverter. You will not be deprived of hot water and light unless there is a massive breakdown of all the systems. there is also a generator back up in addition. 3. the place has a mystique touch with big trees and a hilly terrain. it is in an isolated patch with roads you can stroll leisurely or jog. 4. Very good host and caretaker. The host ensured he was there to receive us and help settle down. he also took care of our food which was delicious, for a very reasonable price. 5. caretaker was well mannered and polite. he ensured that the kitchen was stocked with ingredients to make tea, milk in the refrigerator etc. he was kind enough to start the generator to charge our phones during power cut as the inverter too had drained. 6. this would be the place I would visit again with a larger group of 3/4 families. with camp fire facilities and two houses, this could be great fun in a big group. not so great points: 1. the map gave us an impression that the property was just a few mins away from the city circle. the location coordinates of google map too made us think that way. however, this was located 9 kms off medikeri on winding roads. we spend over an hour trying to locate the place after reaching medikeri. 2. the location is exciting as mentioned before, but giving prior awareness would help as the mobile coverage is close to nil and is in an isolated place. if you are just a couple or a single family with small kids, you may have some jitters regarding security and accessibility aspects.
