It is a 'place' where the time stands still and the pace of life rhymes itself with the symphonies of nature and cultural harmony from sun rise to sun set.In the 1800's this land was owned by a widow who passed it on to the then Maharaja of Nagod and it came to be under his care. This land was then handed down the lineage to the Maharaja's son His Highness Mahendra Singh Ji. He further handed it over to his daughter Rani Shobhana Rana married in the illustrious Rana family of the Kingdom of Nepal, whose Late son Mukund S.J.B. Rana became the owner of this property. It spreads across an undisturbed valley with their family's combined land holdings covering 150+ acres of inviting bio-diversity and pure nature.Mukund S.J.B. Rana always wanted the surrounding village area to be prosperous and made the welfare of the people his prime priority. He was greatly respected and was instrumental in preserving the forests adjoining The Barsana and had a passion for protecting wildlife and firmly believed in their conservation. He taught and introduced the concept of progressive agriculture to the villagers and thus showed them the way to earn their livelihood through harmonious means.

Our unique hospitality home 'Our property lies in the laps of enchanting Vindhyachal plateau and forests at Majhgawan, almost mid-way between the famous touristic destinations of Khajuraho and Bandhavgarh, in Central India (Madhya Pradesh). We are not a guest house. We are simply home at Majhgawan, roughly mid-way between Khajuraho and Bandhavgarh in Central India. Here at our property we have redefined hospitality and leisure by doing away with the standard tourism practices and formal conducts. It offers a stimulating glimpses into the true wonders of 'Incredible India' away from the standard beaten tracks of typical touristic locations, yet it is close to the most well known touristic places in Madhya Pradesh.

In order to protect the beautiful and fragile environment surrounding our location we have some simple 'Dos' and 'Don'ts at Our property that we encourage you to follow : Do's : Close each of your bathroom's tap or shower immediately after use. Do not waste water. Promptly switch off your room's light bulbs or fan when not in use. Do not waste energy. Open your room's curtains and bring to use sun light from wide windows during day time. Always encourage local village people you meet to keep their surroundings garbage-free. Don'ts : Avoid bringing with you polythene bags or plastic mineral water bottles. Avoid wasting any kind of food or fruits during the course of your meals. Avoid offering left over food bits to birds or dogs or cows and buffaloes.
