This Place is nestled in the heart of Gangtok, is an exemplar of traditional Sikkimese hospitality. Built in the late fifties, it was the home of Mr. Lama, executive counsellor to the Chogyal and one of Sikkim's affluent and prominent politicians.The house continues to remain in the family, serving as a home for generations to come.owever, during the early nineties an old family friend Mr ----, better known as the proprietor of Windermere hotel in Darjeeling, suggested turning this family home into a home stay...intrigued by this idea and keen on sharing the rich history the home had to offer...a year later this off-beat suggestion materialised
It began with four rooms in the main block and by the end of the nineties blossomed into the addition of 6 more rooms in a newly annexed wing of the original home.Unique to House is the architecture. The building is an eight sided structure that faces rinchensurgay meaning depiction of sangthopalri celestial being of the three buddhas. Blessed by many eminent Rimpochies, who have also been guests in our abode, house offers an authentic and first-hand experience into the Sikkimese culture, ensuring all who visit us leave as part of the house family.

An ideal location, where one can enjoy shopping of local goodies in the main market which is just a 5 minute walk away and for those in favour of a little history, the palace of the yesteryears Chogyal of Sikkim is just a 10 min walk away.House cosily tucked away lets its guests to enjoy both privacy and quietness of the guest house and the energy & vibrancy of local markets. House is located, just above the oldest hospital in Sikkim Sir Thutob Namgyal memorial hospital, in Tibet Road which was the principle trade route connecting Sikkim and Tibet.
