Surrounded by rich garden palms, this is a traditional Kerala homestay which is hoisted on a terrace plinth and features sprawling wrap-around ‘chuttu’ verandas with eclectic stone-columns and ‘Poomukham’ porticoes. Exuding a delicate old-world charm, this homestay comes with murals of ‘kathakali’ dancers—complete with majestic ‘mukuts’ and huge expressive kohl-lined eyes. Sheltered under a varnished wood-panelled ceiling, the bedroom is well-furnished with comfortable twin beds, a rocking chair, and an inbuilt wooden wardrobe. An old-fashioned dresser paired with a long-railed wicker chair enhances the traditional aura of the bedroom. Weathered and nicked with time, the steep wooden staircase that leads up to the bedroom is an antique artwork in itself.
