This Bungalow—born in history and still remains soaked in its nostalgic charm, is one such heritage palace located a quick commute away from the Ahmedabad airport. Earnestly restored by us is the fountain fore court in sculpted alabaster, a luscious hidden garden, and intricate awning façade in plaster-white. Reminiscent of zamindar palaces of a bygone era, this bungalow offers luxurious services delivered with warm hospitality of our attentive staff. At night, the bungalow shines in its full glory with illuminated colonnades and fairy-lit gardens that surround it. When entering through courtyard, a sprawling chandeliered hall greets you in all its grandeur. Ornate empire-style sofas with intricate floral patterns carved on their exposed metal-frames make evening teas a regal affair in itself. Jaaliwork separators and a Persian runner rug further enhance its royal appeal. Moving on to the suite-christened as ‘Munir Khana’, we offer a spacious bedroom bedecked in myriad antique elements which build on the grand character of this bungalow. A colonial-style double bed, cabriole-legged nightstands, and a velveteen empire-style sofa grace the expanse, while an elegant Persian carpet and Kutch block-print bedding dress it up in traditional attire. Perfect for a royal romantic getaway in the heart of the city, our bungalow is also conveniently located close to Ahmedabad Railway Station and Kankariya Bus Stand.
Despite its colonial facade and two tower rooms with European-style tiled roofs on either side, it has two grand Gujarati wooden jharokha-balconies which lean out on elaborate brackets. The multi-coloured Siraj Khana suite on the first floor, visible in the photograph above is decorated in the traditional style of furshi bethak. This Bungalow is an architectural marvel in its own right.
