Floating amidst the peaceful vibe of the Nigeen Lake boatyard, we offer a peaceful summer retreat for your weary soul, with a dash of the famed warmth of Kashmiri hosting tradition. Run by its host Haji Mohammad Abdullah Kawa and his affectionate family, this houseboat has been around for four generations in his family. The delicious home-cooked Kashmiri ‘wazwan’ always proves to be a great hit amongst their houseguests.
Encased in classic latticed woodwork, our houseboat features patterned ceiling in wood, carpeted flooring in Persian designs, and chandeliered interiors. It holds inside a cosy living space, a dining room, and two bedrooms. Sit down for a steaming ‘kahwa’ with your entire tribe on the velveteen couches in living hall, while meals can be relished in the similarly decorated six-seat dining room. Ample windows all around offer a plethora of views to admire—from intimate ones of untouched woods to those of ‘shikaras’ leisurely paddling about.
Perfect for long family getaways, you get to spend an enjoyable vacation in a regal ambience created by fretwork double beds, old-fashioned nightstands, Persian carpeting, and yet within reach of modern conveniences like a bathtub. Our houseboat is located at Ghat No.12, Dal lake. Nagin Lake (Approx. 7km) and Hazratbal Mosque (Approx. 8km) are nearby places located close to the Golden Crest Group of Houseboat. Nagin Lake features a long shoreline and is famous for Shikaras and houseboats. Tourists can enjoy swimming and water skiing at the lake. Patrons can also catch a glimpse of Wullar Lake, Chinar Bagh, and Dachigam Wildlife Sanctuary while touring Srinagar.
